Lets catch up, shall we?

Okay, I know it's been a while. Don't be mad. I have received literally thousands of letters and emails from all of my readers demanding new posts. Actually it is more like my mom; She has demanded new posts. But she really doesn't care much about the posts themselves; It's all about the pictures of the grand babies. Well, put away the Kleenex mom, as there are lots of pictures below. There is much to catch up on, so we will jump right in. Why do I have the cutest kids? Maybe because I married such a handsome hunk of man with a faultless gene pool? Perhaps that has something to do with it. So, we will begin with pictures of the offspring of myself, and the wonderful man I refer to as: The Hubby.

This shirt just seemed fitting for some reason. (No pun intended; get it? fitting? ha!)

He is the sweetest in his new little outfit.

Have I ever mentioned how much juice these kids can drink? They must be part camel!

Yes, she is the aggressive one; But he can hold his own!

Our next set of photos will be of our recent trip to Nashville. We had so much fun visiting old friends and getting over the shingles. Yeah, that's another story though. We did not take the kids, so that was a nice little break. We missed them so much. Anyway, the purpose of the trip was for the Hubby to catch up with some old college buddies and play some ultimate Frisbee and just have a great time. Here are some of our pictures:

And wrapping things up, our last set of photos will be cute shots of the kids. I hope you enjoy this last set. I will try not to go so long between posts. I did have a small case of shingles, which prevented me somewhat from doing little day to day activities. But, they are quickly fading away and I am feeling much better! The Hubby's birthday is coming up and we are planning a cookout for him on Saturday. More great pictures to come!

Sometimes its hard to get everyone looking at the camera at the same time!

More cute outfits!

Temptations of a one year old

There are many temptations common to the one year old. The temptation to climb the stairs, get in the fireplace, open drawers, and eat cat food to name a few. (because it looks and smells so good don't we all want to eat it?) But for Kensi & Camden, their biggest temptation seems to be a table of picture frames. They just want to play with them so bad! We go through this at least 10-15 times a DAY, people. They have wonderful baby toys to play with. Why do they want to play with picture frames? They don't play songs or have lights; I just don't get it. Maybe its the allure of the forbidden? Well, the consequences of the unacceptable will unmistakeably be the proper deterrent. Even as I'm typing this, Kensi just grabbed my bottle of water and spilled it on the floor and on her head, no less. Well, they are learning. And so am I! But they are the sweetest and most wonderful children ever. We love them so dearly!

Talking in his sleep....
The hubby talks in his sleep quite frequently. At random times I will be awakened in the night with him standing in a corner of the room trying to open a door, (which doesn't exist) or he will start saying really bizarre things that make no sense. This seems to happen more when he has been doing something mentally labor intensive; When his brain is 'full' for lack of better phrasing; Then, it seems to spill out at night. The hubby just got back from Atlanta where he was in a series of rather intense business meetings. It's the final quarter for his business, so he has a lot on his mind. That said, here is what happened last night. I am sleeping so good on my little side of the bed. The room is cool and the covers are warm and I am oblivious to anything going on outside of, well, me. All of a sudden, the covers come ripping off and the hubby is leaning over me saying, "Who is it? Who's there? What is it?" I can barely comprehend what is going on. Then again he asks me, "Who is that? Who are you?" As I grab the covers and pull them back up I mumble "its me!" He doesn't understand and keeps asking me. I say it one more time, "it's me!!!" and roll over to go back to sleep. He talks a few seconds more and seemed to be satisfied with my answer. This morning when I ask him about it, he vaguely recollects the episode. Oh well. I am sure this will happen again. Probably tonight. If he asks me who I am again, I am going to say Big Bird and see what he does.

Our weekend and random pictures

Whats a blog without pictures? Boring. Very boring. Who wants to read a bunch of words without pictures? I sure don't and neither does any eight year old I know! So, here is a summary of our weekend and then some pictures that were in my camera that I thought I would post. We had a great weekend. The hubby had a couple days off last week, so I had a 'mini' vacation with him here at the house. It was sooo great. Saturday night we had some people over and I made the most delicious lasagna I've ever had. Oh Lawd, it was delici-oso! I also made homemade rosemary bread and steamed veggies. Then I made a very moist chocolate cake that I had to get out of the house or I would have eaten the whole thing. We had lunch on Easter Sunday at my parents house. My mother decorated her table so beautifully (Picture below) And the food was fantastic. We had a very tender roast with carrots, mashed potatoes, her famous mac & cheese, stuffed eggs, bread, and broccoli raisin salad. Yeah, it was great! Then she made a beautiful strawberry trifle for dessert. The twins loved that! I don't have any Easter pictures of the kids in their Strasburg yet, but I will try to post some soon.

The chocolate cake I made
Rach brought a famous and gorgeous white cake. I had 3 pieces in one hour.
Here is my plate; Lasagna, bread & veggies.
I can get really cute pictures in the car! Oh Cam-Cam!
The hubby took this of our diva daughter.

Yes, they are this cute all the time!

The Wonderful Hubby

My husband is the most wonderful man on the planet. Yes he is! He is such a warm, kind, giving and funny man. He makes me laugh all the time. He is an inspiration. He has been working out 3 days a week for almost a year now. He used to work out all the time before we got married and even in our early years. But with a house, wife and kids, it took a backseat for a while. I'm so proud of how hard he has been working and it is definitely noticeable. I will attach before and after photos of him without his shirt so you can see. Ha, Just kidding honey! He is such a selfless, tender-hearted person. To know him is truly to love him. There is not enough time or room to tell you how amazing and special he is. So instead, here are a few pics of him with the kids from Sunday. The twins wore their bunny outfits to church:

This girl is FAST!

I guess all Daddies have that special bond with their daughters.

This morning, the kids were all over the place (as usual...). So, I made them lay down to watch the Doodlebops which they actually did. They looked so cute, I had to take a couple pics:

Can you believe this cuteness?
Yes, I took your picture. It won't be the last time either!

Babysitters

Well, this was the weekend of babysitters! On Friday, I paid for my first babysitter. Not bad, I know. And trust me, I do know how wonderful that is! But I had an appointment I couldn't miss, so we got a sweet girl from church to keep the twins. She did a great job. Saturday night, we had one set of grandparents come over and keep them so that the Hubby could take me on a date! Fun! The Hubby's mom and new husband came over to watch them. While they were with the kids, we went to dinner and a movie. We had Thai food and it was DIVINE! I am already asking to go back. So, onto Sunday night. My parents came over to watch the kids as they do every Sunday night. People often ask me, "do the grandparents spoil your kids?" I need to tell them, "no, they spoil us!" We are truly blessed to have such wonderful grandparents for our kids. And there is yet one more set of grandparents that MUST be mentioned here. They do not live in town, so they did not babysit for us this weekend; But they do so much for their twin grand babies! I am referring to the Hubby's Dad and his wife. We get to see them every few months and that is wonderful but never enough. So, all that said; How about some pictures? Well alrighty!

My Favorite Cookies....Ever!

I love sweets. I especially love these certain cookies called Biscoffs. Oh Lord, they are so good. When we buy them, we eat the whole package right away. And we normally buy about 4 at a time. So we have simply had to stop buying them. I did, however, leave one pack unopened and in our kitchen pantry. I had mentioned to the Hubby on Friday that they had been in the pantry for a while and that I had not opened them; Hoping he would tell me how great my willpower is for not gobbling them up, throwing away the package and not telling anybody about it. Well, guess who very quietly opens the package of biscoffs and starts eating them Saturday morning? Yes he did! (He is in SO much trouble!) But he only ate a few, leaving the opened pack in the pantry. By Sunday night they had just called to me for so long; Taunted me; Sang to me. They begged me I tell you! I had to give into the siren's song. I ate the whole rest of the package. Here is what they look like so you can give them a try and you will understand! They can be purchased at Walgreen's, and they are 2 packages for $5. Great deal. Yeah right.

They taste sweet and cinnamon-y. Addicting!

They also come individually wrapped.
